Access to your accounts is also available through other ATMs (including overseas bank ATMs) which allow you to obtain account balances or withdraw funds. Other restrictions may also apply.


These ATMs may apply an ATM operator fee by the ATM owner, which may be brought to your attention before you proceed with your transaction.

You can withdraw cash or view account balances at any St.George, Bank of Melbourne or BankSA, Westpac, or select partner ATMs free from the ATM operator fee.

ATM security tips 

  • Be aware of your surroundings
  • Stand close to the ATM and use your free hand to shield and cover the keypad when entering your PIN
  • Before inserting your card, check if there is anything unusual on or around the ATM, especially right around the card reader slot
  • Do not push your card during the entry process and do not pull your card during the exit process
  • Report anything suspicious on 1800 022 022, even if it appears to be trivial – your action could prevent others from being the victim of ATM fraud
  • Never give your PIN to anyone or write it down
  • Check for any unusual transactions on your bank statements.

St.George, Bank of Melbourne and BankSA customers may conduct ATM transactions free of the ATM operator fee at Westpac and eligible Westpac Group partner ATMs (Precinct) located in Australia, Global Alliance ATMs, and Westpac Group partner ATMs overseas.

Multi-lingual ATMs

Our ATMs screens are displayed in English as well as Chinese, Korean, Vietnamese, Hindi, Bahasa Indonesia, Arabic, Italian and Japanese. 

Audio Enabled ATMs

All of our ATMs provide audio guidance when transacting. Use any standard 3.5mm earpiece and our audio enabled ATMs will give clear verbal instructions in English and provide confirmation of your selections at each step. The tactile labelling at the ATM can assist you with:

  • Plugging in your earpiece
  • Inserting your card
  • Getting your cash and receipt

What you can do

At participating Post Offices, you can:

  • Withdraw cash (up to a daily limit of $1,000). However, cash cheque withdrawals are not permitted.
  • Make cash and cheque deposits (up to a daily limit of $7,000 for cash and less than $1 million for cheques. For mixed cash and cheque deposits, the total limit is less than $1 million per customer, of which no more than $7,000 can be cash).
  • Have your identity verified (for new St.George customers).
  • Make account balance enquiries.

Cash deposits after 6:50pm (Sydney time) at participating Bank@Post outlets on a business day4 or at any time on any other day, will not be processed until the next business day despite appearing immediately as available balance in your account, and may impact the interest accrual calculation on your account.


Important information

  1. You may also be able to do these activities at selected ATMs not attached to a branch.
  2. Only available for certain transaction, savings and investment accounts.
  3. Processing and cut-off times will vary depending on the time of day the cash deposit is made at a Smart ATM or CDM.
  4. A business day means any day other than a Saturday, Sunday, or a national public holiday in Australia.
